DAC Subcommittees
The DAC has two standing Subcommittees. Members of the public may become voting members of any DAC Subcommittee by attending three consecutive meetings of the same Subcommittee. This is an opportunity to advocate for a particular issue or area of interest, without being appointed to the full Commission. It's also a great place to learn advocacy skills and become familliar with the County and the DAC's role as an advisory body. The Subcommittees address the following areas, and meet monthly at the times and locations below.
Programs and Services Access Subcommittee
This Subcommittee works with the County Departments to identify and address accessibility issues relating to County programs and services to ensure that they are fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. They meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m., 700 H Street and via Zoom. See the Agenda for room location and Zoom link.
Physical Access Subcommittee
This Subcommittee's purpose is to ensure that all County buildings, facilities, recreation areas, streets and sidewalks are accessible to individuals with disabilities. The Subcommittee coordinates regularly with the Department of Transportation regarding pedestrian access, and with the Department of General Services to address access to County buildings and facilities. The Physical Access Subcommittee meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 4:30-6:00 p.m., County Administration Center, 700 H Street, and via Zoom. See the Agenda for room location and Zoom link.
